The results indicate that entrepreneurs use expectancy and valences and the interaction between expectancy and valences in their persistence decision policies. The findings also suggest that the persistence decision policies are heterogeneous depending on the level of adversity experienced and individual values held by the entrepreneurs. The results provide interesting insights into why and how entrepreneurs choose to persist.
